Clinton Wayne Comes to Montreal, Alouettes Acquire Canadian Defensive Lineman in a Trade for Receiver Kwame Cavil

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - July 31, 2005) - The Montreal Alouettes acquired Canadian defensive lineman Clinton Wayne from the Edmonton Eskimos today in a trade for veteran receiver Kwame Cavil.

Wayne is a five-year CFL veteran who started his career in 2001 with the Calgary Stampeders. He also played for the Ottawa Renegades for two-and-a-half seasons before he was traded to the Edmonton Eskimos halfway through the 2004 season. In 66 career games, Wayne made 85 defensive tackles and seven quarterback sacks. The Scarborough, ON, native is 28.
