QUÉBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 1, 2015) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, wants to inform the Gaspé Peninsula population that the harvesting of shellfish is now forbidden due to pollution and toxicity, in accordance with the prohibition order mentioned below, and pursuant to subsection 3(1) of the Management of Contaminated Fisheries Regulations, in the following shellfish areas:

From Pointe aux Corbeaux to Pointe Labillois, excluding the waters of Bassin de la rivière Nouvelle.
Côte-de-Gaspé:
Rivière St-Jean's Estuary East (G-24.2.2)
The foreshore and waters of Rivière Saint-Jean's estuary, inside a perimeter delimited in the East by a line drawn on the railroad and in the West by a line drawn between coordinates 48.769953N 64.400533W and 48.789498N 64.399964W.
Rocher-Percé:
Baie de Port-Daniel (G-20.1)
From Pointe du Sud-Ouest to the west side of the road 132 bridge in Port-Daniel, including the waters of Petite Rivière Port-Daniel's estuary.
