Closed Areas for Shellfish Harvesting Upper North Shore

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 1, 2012) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada wants to inform the Upper North Shore population that the harvesting of shellfish is now forbidden due to cessation of biotoxin monitoring, in accordance with the prohibition orders mentioned below, and pursuant to subsection 3(1) of the Management of Contaminated Fisheries Regulations, in the following shellfish areas:

Upper North-Shore: Pointe à Émile (N-03.1.2)

From Pointe à Émile to a point near of the sawmill.

Upper North-Shore: Pointe à Boisvert (N-03.2.1)

From a point near of the sawmill to Pointe à Boisvert's navigation light.

Manicouagan: Mistassini river (N-08.1.3)

From Mistassini rock to Mistassini point.

Manicouagan: Baie Saint-Nicolas (N-08.3)

From Pointe à la Croix to Pointe (Cap) Rouge, including Grande baie Saint-Nicolas and Petite baie Saint-Nicolas.

Sept-Rivieres: Anse Chouinard (N-11.1.3.2)

From the southern point of Anse Chouinard to the western point of Anse aux Français.
