Cloudera CEO Joins Nodeable Board of Directors

Mike Olson Brings Enterprise Software, Big Data Experience to Leadership Team

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 16, 2011) - Nodeable, providers of a cloud-based social platform for systems data, today announced that Mike Olson has joined its Board of Directors. Olson is currently CEO of Cloudera, a leader in Apache Hadoop-based software and services.

"By applying social mechanics to a big data analytics platform, Nodeable has modernized the way cloud infrastructure is managed and understood," said Olson. "The leadership team understands the challenges companies face when it comes to managing the complex, expanding cloud services market and have innovated a unique, simple way to unlock intelligence from these systems for better, faster decision making."

Nodeable applies social mechanics to systems data, allowing users to interact with cloud infrastructure and disparate data sources just as they do with users on social networks. Powered by big data analytics, the Nodeable platform unlocks intelligence from data sources to help IT staff make better decisions faster. Nodeable's open API is designed to complement and work with other systems management tools and a wide range of different data sources.

Olson joins Nodeable Founder and CEO, Dave Rosenberg, and True Ventures partner Puneet Agarwal on the Nodeable Board of Directors. Olson co-founded Cloudera in 2008. Prior to Cloudera, Olson was CEO of Sleepycat Software, makers of Berkeley DB, the open source embedded database engine. He spent two years at Oracle Corporation as Vice President for Embedded Technologies after Oracle's acquisition of Sleepycat in 2006. He holds both a BS and MS in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.

"Mike is an incredible addition to the board," said Dave Rosenberg, co-founder and CEO of Nodeable. "His experience with enterprise software and big data will be invaluable as we continue to build out the Nodeable platform and its data analytics capabilities. Mike is extremely well-regarded in the space and we are truly honored to have him as part of the Nodeable team."

Nodeable recently closed $2 Million in Series A funding led by True Ventures and launched a private beta of its platform. To apply for a private beta invitation, register online at
