CloudFlare Launches Optimized Hosting Provider Program at HostingCon 2012

Seven of the World's Leading Hosting Providers First to Join CloudFlare's Optimized Hosting Provider Program, Letting Them Host at the Speed of Light

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Jul 16, 2012) - HostingCon -- CloudFlare, the web performance and security company, launched their Optimized Hosting Provider Program today at the 2012 HostingCon Conference. The Optimized Hosting Provider initial launch partners include some of the world's leading hosts: VEXXHOST, A2 Hosting, Media Temple, DreamHost, HostPapa, Bluehost, and Site5.

By partnering with CloudFlare, Optimized Hosts get instant access to Railgun, CloudFlare's revolutionary network optimization technology, at no cost. Railgun achieves a 99.6 percent compression ratio for previously uncacheable web objects, which results in an average 730 percent performance increase for content that previously could not be served from a content delivery network (CDN).

"Hosting has traditionally been a somewhat regional business," said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of CloudFlare. "CloudFlare's Railgun allows a host to offer fast service around the world, regardless of where their data center is located. Hosts can literally challenge the speed of light to offer their customers the fastest possible web performance."

"Our customers get web visitors from all over the world," said Albert Lopez, Chief Technology Offer of Media Temple. "For the past year, we have partnered with CloudFlare to provide the best in website performance and security. We are excited to offer Railgun to our customers to ensure the fastest page load times across the globe."

"As one of the newest partners offering CloudFlare, we couldn't be more excited to be one of the first Optimized Partners," said Brian Sargent, Senior Product Manager of Bluehost. "We are looking forward to offering Railgun to our customers giving them the highest levels of website performance and security."

"CloudFlare has certainly raised the bar for website performance by launching Railgun," said Bryan Muthig, chief executive officer for A2 Hosting. "There is currently nothing out there that optimizes the origin network connection and we are looking forward to offering Railgun to our customers."

"Here at Site5 we strive to keep our clients' websites loading as fast as possible and Railgun is a fantastic addition to our arsenal," said Ben Welch-Bolen, CEO of Site5. "With Railgun our clients who publish frequently still gain the huge benefit of caching, keeping their readers happy with faster updates and faster page loading. For our team, toiling away in the server mines, Railgun is a breath of fresh air."

"CloudFlare is constantly pushing the envelope on innovation, and Railgun is no exception," said Mohammed Naser, CEO of VEXXHOST. "We are thrilled to be joining their Optimized Hosting Provider program."

"We are excited to be one of the first CloudFlare Optimized Partners," said Sylvain Patry, Senior VP, Business Development at HostPapa. "CloudFlare's Railgun technology will help us significantly reduce server load and increase infrastructure utilization helping our mission of being the greenest host in the world."

"CloudFlare is like Superman of the Internet. We thought being a Certified Hosting Provider was a big deal, but now we are an Optimized Partner and will offer Railgun to our customers. This is amazing," said Kathy Brahm, VP, Customer Experience and Partnerships at DreamHost.

CloudFlare Certified Hosting Providers are eligible to become Optimized Hosting Providers at no cost if they have a minimum number of their customers' websites active on CloudFlare. Interested hosting providers can learn more by visiting: http://cloudflare.com/hosting-partners.
