CloudLock Concludes 2014 With Industry's First Security Fabric and Doubles Revenue

Year End Numbers Reveal 14th Consecutive Quarter of Record Revenue

WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwired - Feb 5, 2015) - CloudLock, the leading cloud data protection provider, today reported that the company closed out 2014 doubling revenue over the previous year and marking the 14th consecutive quarter of record revenue. Additionally, the company signed more than 200 new customers and doubled the number of employees from the previous year. The year also included the launch of the CloudLock Security Fabric, a platform that serves as a one-stop shop for securing cloud applications enterprise-wide, and received recognition as an innovator by a number of industry influencers.

A Year of Cloud Security Transformation
CloudLock revolutionized the cloud security landscape by launching the CloudLock Security Fabric, a transformative unified cloud security solution that allows organizations to fully embrace the benefits of public cloud applications securely and in a completely non-invasive way. The SaaS-based Cloud Security Fabric gives organizations the visibility and control they need to protect sensitive data -- payment card information (PCI), protected health information (PHI), personally identifiable information (PII), intellectual property (IP) -- across a number of public cloud apps such as Google Apps, Salesforce, Dropbox, Box, ServiceNow and more than 9,000 connected cloud apps.

Additionally, the Company:

  • Announced integration with Dropbox for Business, making it one of several leading service providers building on the new Dropbox for Business API in order to offer increased enterprise-grade functionality within Dropbox for Business.
  • Launched CloudLock for Google Drive, the industry's first cloud security solution that detects and protects sensitive content in real time, averting potential incidents, and was named as one of the first Google Apps Premier Technology Partners.
  • Announced the general availability of CloudLock Selective Encryption, the world's first purely cloud-based, content-aware, intelligent AES 256-bit encryption solution that non-disruptively encrypts only what a company deems the most sensitive data and allows for both end-user-driven encryption, as well as corporate-governed encryption, enforced by CloudLock's cloud-based policy engine.
  • Announced the general availability for CloudLock for Salesforce. CloudLock for Salesforce provides a complete Salesforce, Salesforce Files, and Chatter auditing and compliance solution and the company is now listed on the Salesforce1 AppExchange.

"We've reached a point in the cloud industry where it's no longer a question of adoption for many companies, but rather an acknowledgement of what is already going on within the cloud and how to best manage and protect it," said Gil Zimmermann, co-founder and CEO of CloudLock. "The fourth quarter launch of the Security Fabric was a huge milestone for CloudLock in that we provide one platform, across multiple cloud environments, for our customers who are looking to take full advantage of all the cloud has to offer and our continued growth and momentum supports this opportunity and need."

Funding and Growth
In 2014, CloudLock raised $24 million in additional funding from new investors Bessemer Venture Partners and salesforce.com, and participation of existing investors Cedar Fund and Ascent Venture Partners. CloudLock is leveraging this funding to expand in new markets, invest in existing and expanded product lines, and substantially grow its operations in the U.S., Europe, and Israel.

CloudLock also acquired the intellectual property of Innovode Ltd, the Bristol, UK company behind Innovode Armor, in June 2014. CloudLock hired the key team members behind the Innovode Armor product, an integrated encryption solution for Google Drive.

Strengthened Compliance
The Company also announced it successfully completed a SSAE16 SOC 2 Type 2 audit for its cloud security platform for the third consecutive year, as well as its achievement of SOC 3 Certification. The audit, conducted by independent accounting and auditing firm Ernst & Young (EY), confirmed that CloudLock's information security practices, policies, procedures and operations meet the AICPA standards for security, availability and confidentiality. CloudLock is also an active member of the CSA - Cloud Security Alliance community, U.S. EU Safe Harbor certified and TRUSTe verified.

Key Customer Wins
CloudLock continued to extend its impressive customer base to enable more than 5 million users to leverage the benefits of the cloud for some of the largest and fastest growing organizations in the world. New customers joining or extending their cloud security solutions with CloudLock include Global Foundries, IEEE, Pandora, MobileIron, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., Boston University, Sealed Air, SNL Financial and Bentley University.

CloudLock unveiled its Customer for Life Program in 2014, underlining CloudLock's commitment to delivering industry best practices and education specifically related to the security of public cloud applications. As part of the initiative, the company graduated the inaugural class of CloudLock University, an online and in-person training program provided at three levels for CloudLock customers. The company also launched CloudLock Connect, an innovative online customer community, functioning as a one-stop destination for product information, documentation, sharing of best practices, support information and ideation.
