Hosted by the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), the five-day event will bring together internationally renowned thought leaders, contributors, influencers and organizations in the open source community, explore the culture, community and future of the open source market, and showcase key Apache and open source technologies.

What:  The ApacheCon Business Track keynote panel session on "The Business
       of Open Source." Dave Champine joins a panel of influencers to
       address key open source business and marketing issues, including:
       implementation opportunities, deployment challenges and best
       practices; business (re)generation, product development and
       fulfillment; as well as market shapers, money makers and business
       model-shakers. The panel will be moderated by Sally Khudairi and
       Geir Magnusson.

       Dave Champine will be speaking specifically about how commercial
       companies and the open source community can work together in a way
       that does not undermine the basic principles of collaboration and
       community that are critical to the success of the open source
       movement. He will draw on real-world examples from recent
       collaborations between Cloudmark and SpamAssassin that showcase what
       has worked from a market and economic perspective, as well as a

       and selling to an audience that is committed to free, open software.
