CloudReplica Announces Unlimited Virtual Machine Licensing

CloudReplica Enables the Protection of an Unlimited Number of Virtual Machines to the Cloud

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - January 11, 2011) -  CloudReplica®, the leading provider of Business Continuity as-a-Service, announced an unlimited virtual machine license for their Standard Edition business continuity service. As companies consolidate their hardware assets through virtualization, their dependence on availability grows. CloudReplica offers customers an easier way to protect a virtualized server, no matter how many virtual machines are installed on that server.

"This is significant because many companies invest in virtualization technology to consolidate servers and reduce costs. At the same time, they are putting more of their 'IT eggs into one basket'. A single server failure with multiple virtual machines will have a catastrophic or substantial adverse economic impact. It is very critical that businesses design a robust protection scheme as they implement virtualization. While virtualization helps reduce hardware costs, it also magnifies the need for a solid business continuity plan," said Bob Skiba, President and Founder of CloudReplica.

The CloudReplica virtualization service installs into each virtual machine insuring that each individual virtual machine and their applications are protected at an off-site Cloud location. If the customer's building or on-site server becomes unavailable, the CloudReplica service switches control to the customer's server in the Cloud. The CloudReplica cloud server will run their applications until the on-site issue has been resolved. Once the on-site server is repaired, replaced, or the building comes back online, the business continues to run from the cloud while the CloudReplica service pushes the entire contents of the cloud server back to the on-site server.

Bob adds, "We recognized the increased risk virtualization creates and CloudReplica now offers a solution that makes the protection of those systems cost effective. This is a great opportunity to combine the benefits of virtualization and the CloudReplica protection service at a lower price point."

Jason Kuhn, CIO of RSA Corp, a VMware® and CloudReplica partner, said, "We see many of our customers are looking to virtualization as an important part of their IT strategy. Optimizing their hardware resources to simplify their environment and reduce costs is the goal. Protecting virtualized machines that rely on that hardware is paramount. CloudReplica has made it much easier to justify protection. Pricing to protect 4 virtual machines or 16 virtual machines is the same. It is a very simple model."

CloudReplica's unlimited virtual machine license for Standard Edition is priced at $1,500 per month and is available immediately. Support is available for an unlimited number of Windows virtual machines using VMware or Microsoft® Hyper-V™ Server 2008 R2 virtualization platforms.
