CloudShare Named an Innovative Software Company to Watch by Leading Market Research Firm

IT as a Service Pioneer Recognized for Innovative Market Strategy and Solution

SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwire - September 15, 2010) -  CloudShare today announced that it has been named to IDC's "Innovative Software Companies Under $100M to Watch" list. IDC, a leading provider of global IT research and advice, recognized CloudShare for driving industry change and delivering an innovative solution designed to meet enterprise software applications needs.1

To identify the companies to watch, IDC solicited entries from software application vendors with annual revenues of less than $100 million that exemplified one or more of the three trends, listed below, driving change in the software applications market today. Software applications encompass markets for collaborative applications, enterprise resource management, product life-cycle management, customer relationship management and social software, as well as delivery and deployment models such as cloud and mobility.

These trends, cited in February 2010 as part of IDC's software applications predictions for the year, include:

  • Enterprise software application companies with innovative go-to-market strategies and/or unique business models including unique channel partner models, cloudsourcing models, and software within a service offerings.
  • Enterprise social solutions that support the transformation to a social business, including social platforms that enable communities, blogs, microblogs, wikis or other social collaboration and business functions, socialytic software platforms and applications, or other innovative social business software tools.
  • Emerging mobile enterprise applications and platforms that take advantage of the new mobile hardware platforms and provide access to enterprise systems and processes beyond email.

According to IDC, "Building a full cloud infrastructure is costly and has the same challenges of implementing on-premise systems. CloudShare has built a business on providing this IT infrastructure, including storage, computing power, infrastructure and software all delivered as a service. This IT-as-a-service offering allows ISVs and large enterprises to brand and deploy SaaS applications with full user permissions and hierarchy as well as analytics with all the back-end support, billing, and required management functionality. This functionality enables CloudShare clients to create and replicate IT environments quickly on an 'as needed' basis and then package these environments into individual replicas, creating individual demonstration environments. For enterprise software vendors and VARs, CloudShare enables branded on-demand demos, certification, and training that increases productivity and marketing effectiveness. For service providers, CloudShare provides a private-label platform, which enables faster customer onboarding, management, provisioning, and deployment. CloudShare also provides an App Marketplace, which lets end users/customers quickly source preinstalled applications from leading enterprise vendors."

"We are honored to be one of only three companies recognized by IDC for our unique go-to-market strategy," said Zvi Guterman, CEO of CloudShare. "Our customers, including major enterprise technology companies such as Cisco, VMware and SAP, have already experienced our ability to solve widely recognized business problems quickly and easily. This recognition helps to further establish CloudShare as an IT as a Service pioneer and reinforces our reputation as an innovator in the cloud market."

IDC's "Innovative Companies Under $100M to Watch" reports are a qualitative evaluation of a set of vendors within a specific market -- they are not a stack ranking nor do they represent an exhaustive evaluation of all companies in a segment or a comparative ranking of the companies in the report. Vendors submitted case studies that exemplified one of the trends used as the basis for the award. These case studies were evaluated individually and independently by related market analysts across several pre-determined criteria. The case studies submitted for review had to demonstrate that the technology was available, able to be implemented, and provided real-world benefits to the customer.
