CloudShare Named an Innovative Software Company to Watch by Leading Market Research Firm

IT as a Service Pioneer Recognized for Innovative Market Strategy and Solution

To identify the companies to watch, IDC solicited entries from software application vendors with annual revenues of less than $100 million that exemplified one or more of the three trends, listed below, driving change in the software applications market today. Software applications encompass markets for collaborative applications, enterprise resource management, product life-cycle management, customer relationship management and social software, as well as delivery and deployment models such as cloud and mobility.

These trends, cited in February 2010 as part of IDC's software applications predictions for the year, include:

  • Enterprise software application companies with innovative go-to-market strategies and/or unique business models including unique channel partner models, cloudsourcing models, and software within a service offerings.
  • Enterprise social solutions that support the transformation to a social business, including social platforms that enable communities, blogs, microblogs, wikis or other social collaboration and business functions, socialytic software platforms and applications, or other innovative social business software tools.
  • Emerging mobile enterprise applications and platforms that take advantage of the new mobile hardware platforms and provide access to enterprise systems and processes beyond email.

IDC's "Innovative Companies Under $100M to Watch" reports are a qualitative evaluation of a set of vendors within a specific market -- they are not a stack ranking nor do they represent an exhaustive evaluation of all companies in a segment or a comparative ranking of the companies in the report. Vendors submitted case studies that exemplified one of the trends used as the basis for the award. These case studies were evaluated individually and independently by related market analysts across several pre-determined criteria.
