BEGIN, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 9, 2016) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Key local stakeholders have long been asking for concrete, sustainable measures to improve community and recreational infrastructure. The Government of Canada is proud to invest in projects such as this one by Club Perce-Neige de Bégin, which contribute to the strength and vitality of all regions of the country.

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, Denis Lemieux, Member of Parliament for Chicoutimi-Le Fjord, announced that Club Perce-Neige de Bégin has been granted $55,000 in financial assistance, in the form of a non-repayable contribution, for the renovation of its community hall.

Created in 1986, Club Perce-Neige de Bégin, a non-profit organization, manages and maintains the cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking trails. The community hall is used for public and family activities, receptions, sports competitions and cultural activities. The funding awarded through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150) will enable the organization to carry out many renovations, including replacing the floors, repairing the ceiling, upgrading the lighting, insulating the building, installing new doors and windows, and fixing the roof and concrete gallery.
