CLX Investment Company Announces Introduction of Zonda's Revolutionary QuikAlert™ Food Safety Product to Detect Salmonella

TEMECULA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 6, 2007 -- CLX Investment Company, Inc. (OTCBB: CLXN), a diversified investment fund, today announced that QuikAlert™, the revolutionary new food safety product developed by portfolio investment Zonda, Incorporated, can also be used to detect salmonella. A recent salmonella outbreak linked to tainted peanut butter has made headlines and, according to U.S. federal health officials, has grown to nearly 300 cases in 39 states.

Zonda recently introduced its QuikAlert™ product, which is designed as a first line of defense in detecting food borne pathogens directly from a food product before it is packaged or shipped. Typically, perishable food products are packaged and shipped before pathogen test results are available. QuikAlert™ can detect these potentially dangerous microorganisms in minutes versus hours or days.

According the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Salmonellosis, as the salmonella infection is known, sickens about 40,000 people in the U.S. and kills about 600 people annually. Symptoms of salmonella can include diarrhea, fever, dehydration, abdominal pain and vomiting.

The salmonella outbreak comes on the heels of two nationwide E. coli outbreaks last fall. Zonda initially announced the launch of QuikAlert™ to detect E. coli and has already shipped the initial orders of the test to U.S. and Canadian produce companies.

"We are marketing QuikAlert™ to a broad range of potential customers in the worldwide food and beverage industry, and QuikAlert's effectiveness in detecting salmonella only increases its marketability amidst the recent highly publicized salmonella outbreak in the U.S.," commented said Laurie J. Oleksiewicz, president of Zonda, Incorporated.

QuikAlert™ is a screening tool that enables food companies to detect potentially dangerous levels of microorganisms. A provided swab is used to sample a food product. After 20 minutes, a reagent is added to the tip of the swab. After 2 minutes, a positive test will result in a purple color on the tip of the swab, indicating a presence of potentially dangerous microorganisms.

QuikAlert™ requires no expensive equipment or technical training and no laboratory time or equipment is needed. The QuikAlert™ test can be performed in the field during the growing cycle and at the time of harvest.

Product information, such as the product insert, can be found on Zonda's website, at A product demonstration slideshow can also be accessed on the site. Food industry companies, distributors and even individuals interested in purchasing the QuikAlert™ product can e-mail Zonda at
