CMA/Media Advisory: Wait Time Alliance Staging Technical Briefing with Media to Discuss its Final Report on Benchmarks

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 9, 2005) - Members of the Wait Time Alliance, a group of national medical organizations, will conduct a technical briefing for media via teleconference on their final report entitled It's about time!-Achieving benchmarks and best practices in wait time management, being released Wednesday, August 10th at 11:00 AM (Eastern).

Building on its preliminary report released last April, the WTA final report recommends a series of integrated steps to realize pan-Canadian wait-time benchmarks and improve access to care for patients.

It also presents revised benchmarks for medically acceptable wait times for access to care in five areas: heart care, cancer care, diagnostic imaging, joint replacement and sight restoration.
