GREATER SUDBURY, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 8, 2011) - According to preliminary data released today by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), only one single detached start was counted in the Greater Sudbury metropolitan area in February 2011. Year to date, 11 single detached units have broken ground, ten per cent greater than the same period last year.
"Single detached starts recovered in 2010 and are on pace thus far to continue growing in 2011," observed Warren Philp, Northern Ontario Market Analyst with CMHC.
"Despite the slow February, single-detached starts average only three units in this typically quiet winter month," concluded Philp.
