CMLS 2010 -- First Some Fun, Then Some Conferencing

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - September 29, 2010) - Before settling in for two days of presentations and discussions, the attendees of CMLS (Council of MLSs) 2010, hosted by Midwest Real Estate Data LLC (MRED), were able to enjoy a beautiful fall day in the Windy City. Three enjoyable events were held today -- a Golf Outing, the Architectural Boat Tour on the Chicago River and a Welcome Cocktail Reception.

Even when attending "fun" events, business is taking place. Whether building on an existing relationship or establishing a new one, many times new accounts are created from a seed planted while driving a fairway, appreciating a Frank Lloyd Wright home or over cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

This mixture of business and pleasure started today with an early breakfast at the hotel followed by a round of golf at the George Dunne National Golf Course in Oak Forest. While over 50 golfers were enjoying themselves in Oak Forest, competing not only for low score but also in closest to the pin and longest drive contests, that afternoon another 100 attendees were cruising the river surrounded by the historical landmarks of the Chicago skyline. Famous buildings such as the Willis (formerly Sears) Tower, Trump Tower and other noteworthy sites were viewed, with the different architectural styles pointed out by the tour guide.

The day was capped off with the CMLS 2010 Welcome Cocktail Reception. Held at the conference's headquarters hotel, the Westin Chicago River North, several hundred MLS professionals and technology vendors were able to renew old friendships, make new acquaintances, and get sneak peeks at the latest products and services being touted by the exhibitors. The hot issues of the day were already being discussed, promising that the next two days will be both interesting and stimulating.
