CNI College Receives Educational Recognition From the NSCA for Their Personal Training Program

ORANGE, CA--(Marketwire - June 17, 2009) - Career Networks Institute recently received news that the school has successfully renewed their educational recognition by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) for their personal training program. CNI College previously had received this prestigious honor for the years of 2006-2009. Their latest recognition will last through 2012. Currently, Cal State Fullerton and CNI College are the only two California Schools recognized by the NSCA for their personal training curriculum.

In order to be recognized by the NSCA, CNI College had to meet the following criteria:

-- A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT), who is a full-time employee involved in the educational program must be on staff.

- The Director of Education at CNI College, Stacy Hinkel, fulfills this requirement as she holds both the CSCS and NSCA-CPT credentials. In addition, the newest staff member of CNI College, Eric Burkhardt, holds the CSCS credential. Eric has been the head strength coach at UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, and Cal State Long Beach.

-- Institutions must be regionally accredited.

- CNI College is accredited through the Accrediting Bureau for Health Education Schools (ABHES).

-- Documentation of required course content must be submitted with the application.

The CNI Personal Training program is a nine month program that prepares students to pass the Certified Personal Trainer examination through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). The NSCA-CPT became the first personal training credential to be nationally accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) in 1996 and has continued to set the standard for personal training as the most well-respected personal trainer certification through national and international recognition. CNI College's NSCA approved curriculum encompasses anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, fitness testing, exercise techniques, program design and implementation, business management and a myriad of physical activities. Persons interested in attending CNI College to become a personal trainer should call the college at 1-800-778-9516 for more information.
