CNSC/Notice of Adjournment of Public Hearing

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 15, 2006) - The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) announces the adjournment of a two-day public hearing on the application by SRB Technologies (Canada) Inc. (SRBT) for the renewal of its Nuclear Substance Processing Facility Operating Licence.

Consideration of the above-referenced application has been adjourned from August 17 and October 25, 2006 to dates to be determined later. The Commission will review the Designated Officer Order pursuant to the requirements of the Nuclear Safety and Control Act and in accordance with the rules of procedural fairness.

A new hearing date on SRBT's licence application will be announced with sufficient advance notice to ensure a fair, informal and expeditious consideration of the application. The current operating licence expires on November 30, 2006.

SRBT manufactures sealed light sources containing tritium for use in luminous signs and other luminous objects. The facility is located in Pembroke, Ontario.
