Co3 Systems Expands Global Privacy Breach Compliance

Latest Enhancements Support Asia-Pac Regulations; Customization Features to Streamline Configuration and Management

SEATTLE, WA and CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwired - Oct 1, 2013) - IAPP Privacy Academy 2013 -- Co3 Systems, the leader in Incident Response Management software, today announced that its Privacy Module to automate data breach preparedness and response now includes comprehensive coverage for privacy regulations across Asia-Pac. Using the Co3 product, organizations around the globe can easily navigate through the vast differences in the definition, regulation and communication of data breaches. It is continuously updated to cover the latest changes throughout the U.S, Canada, the European Union (EU) and now Asia-Pac.

Forrester recently examined data privacy laws across the 15 different jurisdictions that comprise of Asia-Pac with a survey of senior executives -- ranging from chief information security officers (CISOs), governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) professionals, lawyers and consultants. The findings revealed a highly dynamic and confusing environment, with low levels of compliance and uneven cross-border controls. However, the increasing penalties for noncompliance are driving a significant uptick in demand for compliance-related products and services from both the private and public sectors. With the recent evidence of increasingly widespread breaches -- from the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) to Yahoo Japan -- the issue could not be more urgent.

Today's product enhancements continue Co3's expansion of its knowledgebase and streamline its Incident Response Management platform. They include:

Comprehensive New Regulatory Coverage:

  • Asia-Pac: The Co3 Privacy Module now includes: Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan. As several countries in this region have not yet implemented actual breach notification legislation, Co3 has also included those that have issued guidance for organizations to follow in the event of a breach. Co3 experts monitor and update the product as the legislative landscape continues to evolve.

Enhanced Product Capabilities:

  • Centralized Notifications Icon: Co3 now includes an icon that displays the number of notifications that require action on the part of the user.

  • New Dashboard Widgets and Dashboard Print, Tab Consolidation: The Analytics Dashboard now has additional widgets for enhanced functions and configurability, along with a print button, which makes it easy to customize reports for sharing information with various audiences.

"As confidential information flows between devices, regions and governments, organizations continue to struggle with privacy regulations and what constitutes private or protected information," said John Bruce, CEO at Co3 Systems. "Co3 removes the confusion by encapsulating the clear-cut mandates with proven best practices, making them immediately understandable and available in an actionable Plan -- both for preparedness and response. With Asia-Pac now added to the Privacy Module, companies can now confidently operate around the world without the complexity of preparing for, and potentially managing breaches."

Pricing and Availability
The new features are accessible to Co3 Privacy Module customers at no additional cost. The Privacy Module is licensed annually by the number of seats; support is included in the annual subscription.
