The announcement will have a positive impact on the regional transportation and tourism industries.

"Coach Canada remains firmly committed to providing fast, frequent and friendly service on the Toronto-Kingston-Montreal corridor. I invite travellers to take advantage of our special introductory offers and be among the first to sample our new luxury ride," says Souter. Coach Canada took delivery of a brand new fleet of 15 Canadian-made coaches.

Until June 20, 2005, special fares and discounts for Toronto-Kingston-Montreal commuters include:
- Buy any regular adult, senior or student fare and your companion travels FREE
- For solo travelers, the $10 voucher is off any regular adult, senior or student fare, any time!

Travel is valid any time, excluding May 19-23. There are eight daily departures serving Toronto, Kingston and Montreal direct. No advance purchase is required. For more information, consumers can call 1-800-461-7661 or visit www.coachcanada.com and click on media information.

"With air travel prices on the rise between the two cities, and gas prices reaching record highs, Coach Canada is the affordable alternative. Travellers arrive in the downtown core and avoid the airport hassles of security checks and pre-flight wait-time," stated Jim Devlin. The new 56-seat coaches boast improved fuel usage and better mileage, which means they are better for the environment.

Stagecoach Group PLC is one of UK's largest bus and coach operators. It entered the North American market in 1999 with its purchase of Coach Canada, offering scheduled commuter services and also tour and charter, sightseeing and school bus operations. Coach Canada employs 800 people and operates 400 vehicles in Canada. It is the biggest operator in the Toronto area with a 25 per cent market share and also a major transport provider in Montreal. The 570-kilometre Toronto-Kingston-Montreal route is a key corridor with great potential for future growth.
