Coal India Limited Proposes 20 Coal Preparation Plants to Improve Quality, an Industrial Info News Alert

DELHI, INDIA--(Marketwire - Aug 11, 2011) - Researched by Industrial Info India (Delhi, India) -- Coal India Limited (CIL) (Kolkata, West Bengal), has proposed the establishment of 20 new coal preparation plants as part of its expanding mining activities. The proposal is part of the company's plan to overcome the quality problems of Indian coal and encourage clean-coal technologies. The proposed coal prep plants will be established under a build, operate and maintain (BOM) model at an estimated cost of $555 million. The plants' combined capacity would be 111 million tons.
