Coast Mountain Initiates Mclymont Creek Project

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 15, 2005) - Cliff Grandison, President of Coast Mountain Power Corp. (TSX VENTURE:MW), announced that the company has filed an application for a water licence and land tenure to generate up to 60MW of electricity from a run of river hydroelectric generating plant on Mclymont Creek in Northwestern BC. Mclymont Creek is a tributary to the Iskut River with a confluence located approximately 10 kilometers downstream of the company's proposed 115 MW Forrest Kerr Project on the Iskut River.

Initial studies propose the construction of a weir and intake, 3000 m long water conveyance pipeline and tunnel, and surface powerhouse. The project is expected to generate approximately 206 GWh annually using a maximum of 30 m3/sec of water over the 245 m elevation difference from the intake to the proposed powerhouse. A short section of new access road and transmission line will be required to connect the Mclymont Creek project to the proposed Forrest Kerr facilities. Construction would take approximately two years from the time permits are received and project financing has been obtained.

In conjunction with Forrest Kerr and More Creek, the Mclymont Creek project will bring Coast Mountain Hydro Corp's total proposed generating capacity in Northwestern BC to 195 MW.
