Coastal Flow Introduces BirdDog Lease Program

Company Adds New Option for BirdDog™ Remote Data Retrieval System

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - January 13, 2011) - Coastal Flow Measurement today announced its new leasing program for the company's BirdDog Remote Data Retrieval System. Through the BirdDog Lease Program, clients can profit from this advanced solution for collecting, processing, and electronically accessing information from remote oil & gas operational sites without upfront capital investments in communications equipment, software, or other infrastructure components. With the BirdDog Lease Program, existing equipment such as flow computers can typically continue to be used, reducing overall lease and operating costs.

There are three major BirdDog lease categories: one for only communications equipment, a second which adds a 30 watt solar panel, and a third which includes an ABB Totalflow microFLO model 6213 flow computer. For each, the monthly cost includes cellular communications and standard BirdDog data collection/processing services with 4-hour polling. Other options include hourly polling, advanced alarm services, and satellite-based communications, with custom lease configurations to meet exact system and operational requirements.

The BirdDog system provides access to information from monitored remote locations through a convenient web interface as well as BirdDog Morning Reports delivered daily via e-mail. Data is collected and logged according to AGA 14.3 and stored in an API Chapter 21.1 compliant format, essential for downstream review, recalculation, volume reporting, and auditing. The BirdDog system allows scheduling of routine data retrieval polling for automatic updates to reports and graphs for subsequent viewing and analysis. Data can be logged from electronic devices or entered by field personnel with options for custom presentation formatting. Advanced security features permit data to be selectively accessed according to the end-user, specific parameters, and installation, which also allows data sharing with entitled third-parties. Alarms on exception may be sent as text messages or directly to e-mail accounts, with satellite-based alarm options for critical equipment or conditions which warrant immediate notifications.
