Coaxsys Introduces IPTV Networking Integration for Amino Set-Top Boxes: TVnet/AC

Solution Will Simplify Telephone Operators' IPTV Deployments

LOS GATOS, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 6, 2005 -- Coaxsys, Inc., makers of the #1 deployed IPTV network, today announced the availability of the TVnet/AC, an Ethernet-over-Coax adapter specifically designed for compatibility with the Amino Communications' AmiNET 110 set-top box. Coaxsys has developed this custom-fit home network specifically for the Amino line of STBs, as Amino is the most broadly deployed STB in this market.

The TVnet/AC is a mechanical integration of Coaxsys' TVnet Ethernet-over-Coax technology and Amino's AmiNET 110 set-top box. The integrated design utilizes a common power supply and integrates the two devices into a very attractive package. Instead of requiring separate units for the IP network and the set-top box, telephone operators will now have a joint design that fits perfectly into subscribers' entertainment systems and utilizes only one power outlet.

The solution is a natural fit for operators deploying IPTV in the typical American home. Coaxsys' TVnet network enables IPTV to be distributed throughout a home by utilizing pre-existing coaxial cable -- with no need to rewire with CAT-5. Currently, more than thirty Telcos deploy IPTV with a TVnet solution.

Roy Kirsopp, CEO of Amino Communications LLC, noted that the solution provides deploying operators a new level of integration: "The TVnet/AC is a creative, functional, and valuable product that we expect will be met with considerable interest; it reaffirms Amino's commitment to the Telcos for lowering the total cost and ease of deployments. The joint Amino-Coaxsys solution will drastically reduce the costs and improve the installation times of IPTV deployments."

"We've responded to our customers' requests," said Coaxsys CEO, Michael D'Addio. "The market has wanted TVnet to be integrated into other devices that are installed in the course of IPTV deployments. This is a natural first step for us as we continue our aim for full set-top box integration: Amino is the leader in IPTV set-top boxes, and we expect that the TVnet/AC will be a hit with telephone operators."

Coaxsys also reaffirmed its commitment to licensing its TVnet technology to set-top box companies and system-on-a-chip manufacturers. The TVnet/AC is fully compatible with Coaxsys' IPTV 7000 adapters, the #1 deployed IPTV network. The TVnet/AC will be available for purchase this summer, and the product will be on display June 7-9 at SUPERCOMM in the Power & Telephone booth #24015 and in the Amino Communications booth #75022.
