Coca Cola Strike Milton Keynes

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Aug. 30, 2007) -

Start 30th August 6.00am - 6.00pm

Front entrance, Coca Cola Enterprises, 7 Northfield drive, Northfield, Milton Keynes MK15, ODD

Workers at the Coca Cola Enterprises site in Milton Keynes are taking strike action today (30th August 2007) from 6.00am - 6.00pm. A further 12 hour strike is planned for Monday 3rd September starting 6.00pm and ending 6.00am 4th September.

Unite is furious that management have offered a pay deal of 2.5% when Coca Cola has enjoyed significant profits and a rise in stock market value.

Unite Regional Officer, Craig Smith said:

"Given that Coca Cola Enterprises make significant profits, we are not prepared to see our members' wages cut. Their hard work has delivered the profits for Coca Cola Enterprises. Their mortgages, gas bills and council tax have all increased but their pay has fallen flat.

We are prepared to reopen negotiations to help resolve the dispute but our members are also adamant that the dispute could continue."
