Code Dx Appoints Cybersecurity Expert, Anita D'Amico, as CEO

NORTHPORT, NY--(Marketwired - Apr 8, 2015) - Code Dx, Inc., a provider of a robust suite of fast and affordable tools that help software developers and security analysts find, prioritize and visualize software vulnerabilities, today announced that it has been spun off by Secure Decisions. The newly formed Code Dx, Inc. has appointed Anita D'Amico, Ph.D., founder of Secure Decisions, as CEO to lead the company in fulfilling the increasing demand for software security testing tools that help prevent hackers from exploiting weaknesses in software.

The Code Dx® technology was originally developed by Secure Decisions and was partially funded by DHS Science & Technology Cyber Security Directorate to help secure the nation's software supply chain. Secure Decisions has a history of successfully transitioning cybersecurity technologies from research into operational use. Code Dx is its most recent transition success, bringing technology that offers an easy and affordable path to software assurance from the laboratory to the commercial marketplace.

"Most data breaches today can be traced back to weaknesses in software code, increasing the demand for solutions that will help to identify vulnerabilities," said Dr. D'Amico. "Since we released Code Dx just over a year ago, it has been steadily gaining the attention of industry and government organizations who need to find vulnerabilities in software before the attackers do. We've had more than a 60 percent increase in downloads in the past six months compared to the prior six months."

Code Dx brings together a collection of application security testing tools in one easy-to-use and affordable solution. It consolidates and normalizes the software vulnerabilities found and provides visual analytics to help triage and prioritize those vulnerabilities for efficient remediation.

"I am confident that Anita will lead Code Dx to success, and establish it as the market leader in software vulnerability assessment tools," said Frank Zinghini, CEO of Secure Decisions' parent company Applied Visions, Inc. "The market is ready for a new approach, one that makes this essential capability available to all developers and not just those able to afford the big, expensive tools available today. Anita has the vision, drive, ability, and understanding of the market needed to achieve that."

"Code Dx is poised to move into a leadership position in the fast growing software assurance sector of the cybersecurity industry," said Steve Morgan, Code Dx board member, founder and CEO of Cybersecurity Ventures and publisher and Editor-In-Chief of the Cybersecurity 500. "Code Dx has strong support from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, an emerging following from the software development community, several key technology alliances with SIEM vendors, and an impressive board of advisors. For these and other reasons, we view Code Dx as one of the world's hottest and most innovative cybersecurity companies."

Anita D'Amico, Ph.D.
