Coeur d'Alene Welcomes Its Newest Hotel With Community-Wide Celebrations

Ribbon-Cutting and Grand Opening Events Mark the Exciting Arrival of the SpringHill Suites Coeur d'Alene

COEUR D'ALENE, ID--(Marketwired - Nov 6, 2013) - Enthusiasm, as they say, is contagious, and in one picturesque corner of Idaho, it's downright infectious. Between the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the grand opening event and the beautifully functional and environmentally sustainable property itself, the brand-new SpringHill Suites Coeur d'Alene has given its hometown plenty of reasons to get excited.

As the newest example of Lake Coeur d'Alene lodging and the first LEED-certified hotel in Idaho, the SpringHill Suites opened in August with four floors, 118 suites, a host of complimentary amenities like high-speed Internet access and hot breakfasts. Its spacious suites, featuring pull-out sofa beds and designated workspaces, set the property apart from other hotels near the Silverwood Theme Park and promise to change the hospitality landscape accordingly.

No wonder, then, that the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce and two of its committees, the CVB and the Commodores, eagerly organized a ribbon-cutting ceremony for September 11, 2013 to put the spotlight on the hotel's modern comforts, contemporary aesthetic and value-driven service. Once the ribbon was snipped, owner Kent Clausen provided tours of the hotel and fielded questions about its many features, from its status as the first LEED-certified hotel in Idaho to its playful amenities like the putting green, splash pad and outdoor fire tables.

Of course, as one of a handful of hotels near the Kootenai Health medical campus, the hotel caters to business travelers as much as leisure guests. In addition to its business resources like fax, copy, printing and postal services, this Coeur d'Alene hotel's meeting space offers 420 square feet of comfortable, technologically-up-to-date room for board meetings, training sessions and intimate gatherings.

Given the considerable momentum generated in its first two months of business, the grand opening on October 17 was an undisputed success. Among the 250 guests were the mayor, city officials and local business leaders, all of whom enjoyed an evening of tapas-style appetizers, beer and wine selections, raffle prizes and tours. Clausen ended the evening on a grateful note, thanking the hotel's charter-member team and managers for their ceaseless efforts to put the hotel together.

"It is a tremendous honor and opportunity to open a property like the SpringHill Suites Coeur d'Alene," Clausen explains. "To have such a devoted team by my side means we can raise the bar for hospitality in the area and provide our guests with the best possible experience when they stay with us." Enthusiasm, it seems, is destined to stick around awhile in Coeur d'Alene.
