Coficab Group Standardizes on Infor LN for Automotive

Coficab Signs Contract With Infor to Unify Solutions With Infor LN

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Dec 2, 2013) - Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, today announced it has signed a contract with Coficab Group, one of the biggest worldwide suppliers of wires and cables for the automotive industry, involving a comprehensive multinational, multi-site implementation. The contract will see Coficab standardize on Infor LN for Automotive, and the application will be implemented in Portugal initially, followed by Mexico, Morocco, Tunisia, Romania and the United States.

Coficab currently has disparate solutions, which hinder the harmonization of processes and the implementation of best practice across the group's factories. This disparity also compromises ease of access to information and consolidation of results. The capabilities of Infor LN for Automotive are designed to facilitate standardization of systems and easier reporting throughout Coficab Group, helping the company to streamline processes, reduce waste, increase productivity and enable new production units to be opened more quickly.

"This implementation will allow the Coficab Group to have a single information system across its factories, simplifying reporting, and allowing the group to follow its trajectory of growth through applying these processes to other markets," said João Pires, Financial Director of Coficab Portugal. "Our selection was given considerable thought, and we only moved forward when we were certain that Infor LN for Automotive would enable significant gains in efficiency. We chose Infor for this project based on an understanding of their solutions and the professional manner in which they work."

"Infor has a great deal of experience in the automotive sector, in part due to the diverse solutions that they provide, and also because these solutions enable automotive companies to respond more satisfactorily to the market's demands," said Juan Martinez, Infor's Senior Account Manager in Iberia. "Coficab has been part of our portfolio of clients for some time and, as such, challenged us to assist it in this important project, which will be firstly implemented in Portugal, the chosen location for the pilot project, and will then be repeated in the group's other factories spread throughout the world."

Keep Current on Infor:

With the aim of meeting the growing demand for the production of cabling in Tunisia, the Elloumi Group opened in 1992 its first automotive wire and cable factory, COFICAB (ex Electrical Cable), in Tunisia. The Elloumi Group benefits from long experience in the sectors of energy, telecommunications and special cables since 1963, through its subsidiary, Chakira Cable and its cabling division, COFAT. The latter is one of the most prominent companies in Tunisia. Thanks to its experience in the cabling industry, as well as partnerships with its clients, COFICAB Tunisia acquired unquestionable know-how in the automotive sector, which allowed the company to establish itself worldwide. The main structures in the internationalization of the group are: Tunisia, Portugal, Morocco, Mexico, USA, Germany and Romania.
