Cogeco Cable Inc. Publishes its Corporate Social Responsibility Report


MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Jan. 14, 2014) - Cogeco Cable Inc. (TSX:CCA) announced today the publication of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report. This report, issued once every two years, is produced according to the Global Reporting Initiative's sustainability reporting guidelines. Its scope has been widened this year to include data pertaining to Cogeco Data Services, in addition to that pertaining to Cogeco Cable Canada.

"This report provides a comprehensive view of our sustainability performance, including many successful initiatives to reduce GHG emissions associated with our waste, facilities and fleet management. These and other initiatives had a positive impact on our fiscal years' 2012 and 2013 financial results," said Louis Audet, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cogeco Cable Inc. "In fiscal 2012, we established efficiency improvement objectives in a number of areas and are pleased to report performance enhancements."

Below are a few highlights of the results published in the report:

  • $3.5 million in donations to registered charitable organizations with an additional $6.8 million through airtime on TVCogeco
  • BOMA BESt certification for the Burlington regional headquarters
  • Reduction in vehicle fleet consumption by over 1.3 million litres in fiscal 2012 and 2013 combined
  • Several awards for quality and speed of Internet services in Canada
