COGECO Inc. Announces Departure of its Cogeco Radio Télévision Inc. Subsidiary President

MONTREAL, March 17 - Louis Audet, President and Chief
Executive Officer of COGECO Inc., today announced the departure of Michel J.
Carter, President and CEO of the Company's broadcasting subsidiary, who has
decided to retire. Mr. Carter made this decision in order to spend more time
with his family.

The President and CEO of COGECO Inc. pointed out that Mr. Carter will
remain in his position until COGECO Inc. finds a successor for him, and he
will continue to provide comprehensive management of the operations of Cogeco
Radio Television Inc. (CRTI) in the meantime.

Mr. Carter joined COGECO in 1986 as Vice President, Finance. In 1995, he
became Vice President and General Manager of CRTI, before accepting the
position as the subsidiary's President and CEO in 2002.

"I shall remain in my position as long as necessary in order to ensure a
harmonious transition for the companies I am currently heading. My 19 years
with COGECO have been happy ones," stated Mr. Carter, "and I shall be leaving
behind me a competent team who supported me throughout those years. I thank
them sincerely for that support."

The President and CEO of COGECO Inc. concluded by pointing out that CRTI
plans to continue its operations in the spirit of entrepreneurship and
innovation that is its hallmark and has always guided management decisions.


COGECO is a diversified communications company. Through its Cogeco Cable
subsidiary, COGECO provides about 1,319,000 revenue-generating units to
approximately 1,430,000 households in its service territory. Through its two-
way broadband cable infrastructure, Cogeco Cable provides its residential and
commercial customers with analog and digital video and audio services, as well
as high-speed Internet access. Through its Cogeco Radio-Television subsidiary,
COGECO holds a 60% interest and operates the TQS network, six TQS television
stations, and three French CBC affiliated television stations in partnership
with CTV Television. Cogeco Radio-Television also wholly owns and operates
RYTHME FM radio network with stations in Montreal, Québec City, Sherbrooke and
Trois-Rivières as well as 933 station in Québec City. COGECO's subordinate
voting shares are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (CGO.SV). The
subordinate voting shares of Cogeco Cable are also listed on the Toronto Stock
Exchange (CCA.SV).
