Cogitore Intersects High Grades at Scott Lake Within Broad Stringer Mineralization

10.3% Copper, 19.4% Zinc and 243 g/t Silver over 1 metre within 2.06 % Cu, 4.71 % Zn, 0.14 g/t Au and 65.1 g/t Ag over 10.7 metres

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 23, 2009) - COGITORE Resources Inc. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:WOO) is pleased to report a narrow but high grade intercept of volcanogenic massive sulphides (VMS) within a larger 31.5 metre zone of stringer sulphides at the 100%-owned Scott Lake Project in Chibougamau, PQ. Drill hole SC-36 intersected a one metre massive sulphide interval, which assayed 10.3% copper, 19.4% zinc and 243 g/t silver starting at 526.7 metres down hole (vertical depth 474m). The high grade intercept is believed to be an extension of the 1750 Lens and occurs within a broader 31.5 metre intersection of altered rhyolite and stringer-type sulphide mineralization. Core angles (70 degrees-80 degrees) indicate near true width. Weighted averages of individual assays are tabled below:

As seen on Section 1500W on Figure 1 (available at the following address: http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/Scott%20Lake_0223.pdf), the pierce point for SC-36 correlates with hole SC-29, which lies about 120 metres above SC-36 and has a similar stringer interval grading 1.4% Cu, 1.5% Zn, 0.2g/t Au and 38.0g/t Ag over 16.9 metres (see press release of October 2, 2008). These two holes support the view that the 1750 Lens, where mineralized zones had previously contained mostly zinc, has the potential to also host copper-enriched zones, such as has been seen in the West Lens and as would be expected in layered or "stacked" massive sulphide environments.

Gerald Riverin, Cogitore's President & CEO, noted that "while narrow, the high grades of copper, zinc and silver in this one metre massive sulphide intersection may be significant, as it does not take large volumes of such mineralization to 'sweeten' or 'carry' large tonnages of surrounding stringer mineralization. The Company continues to be strongly encouraged by the discovery of multiple high grade mineralized horizons at Scott Lake."

SC-36 was also targeting the West Lens about 100 metres higher than the stringer mineralization intercept in SC-35 (see press release of January 21, 2009) but the Selco Horizon, which hosts the West Lens, was dyked out and therefore not intersected in SC-36. The Company is awaiting borehole geophysical results in order to determine the direction in which the West Lens was dilated or displaced.

Subsequent to the January 21, 2009 press release, additional assays were also received from the bottom section of hole SC-35. Highly anomalous copper and zinc values were intersected as tabled below:

The Company is in the process of interpreting and correlating the results from the bottom section of SC-35.

Drilling will continue at Scott Lake, testing the West Lens and the 1750 Lens at approximate 100 metre centres until the end of the first quarter, with the objective of determining the size and geometry of the mineralized zones. Wedging or directional drilling from existing holes is being evaluated to save on costs and time.

Work is carried out by the personnel of Cogitore Resources Inc., under the supervision of Gerald Riverin, PhD, P.Geo. He is a qualified person (as defined by National Instrument 43-101) and has more than 31 years of experience in mineral exploration.

The drill core from hole SC-36 was logged and marked up for assay at the Company's secure facility in Chibougamau, Quebec. Drill core for assay was split in half. Half of the core was shipped in sample bags to the ALS Chemex laboratory in Val d'Or, PQ for specific gravity measurement and sample preparation. Pulps were flown to Vancouver, B.C. for analysis with appropriate standards, duplicates and replicates used for quality control purposes. The other half of the core is retained for future reference.

Upcoming Events

Management of Cogitore Resources will be present at the 2009 PDAC in Toronto, Ontario. We look forward to meeting you at these events:

March 1 - 2, 2009 - Core Shack - Level 700 Booth # 5008A

March 1 - 4, 2009 - Investors Exchange - Level 800 Booth # 3013

Cogitore explores for VMS-type deposits in areas where such deposits have been found and mined before. Exploring in such areas is preferred because of existing infrastructure, knowledgeable local workforces and broad public support for mining. Collectively, these are major competitive advantages for logistics and economics.
