COLDINSQUI Selects D2L's Brightspace to Personalize Training for Surgical Professionals

BOGOTA, COLOMBIA--(Marketwired - May 08, 2017) - D2L, a global learning technology leader, today announces that COLDINSQUI (Colombian College of Surgical Instrument Assistants) has selected its Brightspace learning management system (LMS) to provide more personalized training to surgical instrument assistants, and enable the college to expand in Colombia and being recognized in Latin America.

Established in Bogota in 2007, COLDINSQUI offers professional development through continuing education. Starting in April, it will use Brightspace to commence registration for ReTHUS, a Unique Registry of Human Talent in Healthcare. In addition, Brightspace will provide certifications for surgical instrument assistants through public functions delegated by the Health and Social Protection Ministry in Colombia, the second most populated country in South America. With Brightspace, COLDINSQUI will be able to fulfill its purpose of keeping professionals updated in order to provide excellent healthcare services, especially to those who haven't been able to access the institution's services through traditional methods. In addition, according to the professional competencies set for Colombia, the college will be able to adapt the material for its courses and boost the quality level of its training.

Recognizing the demand for more continuous enrollment and the ability to train surgical instrument assistants remotely, COLDINSQUI began a Brightspace pilot program in 2017: "We decided to implement a virtual continuous education program where all surgical instrument assistants could access the courses from Colombia and other countries," said Daniel Alexis Espitia, COLDINSQUI's Executive Assistant to the Presidency.
