ColdWatt Joins The Green Grid Consortium to Address Energy Efficiency in Data Centers

Innovative Power Conversion Startup Takes Holistic Approach to Reduce IT Equipment Power Consumption

AUSTIN, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 10, 2007 -- ColdWatt Inc., a supplier of innovative digital power conversion technologies, has joined The Green Grid, a global consortium dedicated to developing and promoting energy efficiency for data centers and information services. As an innovator in the power supply market, ColdWatt is investing in technologies aimed at improving overall power consumption in the data center.

"By looking beyond the power supply 'silver box,' we take a holistic approach to energy efficiency that helps solve IT managers' power challenges and reduce end users' operational expenditures," said Dan Artusi, chairman and CEO of ColdWatt. "Joining The Green Grid is a natural extension of this strategy and will allow us to work with other industry leaders to make a significant impact on the data center ecosystem, as well as the environment."

The Green Grid consortium announced its formation and board of directors in late February 2007. The organization brings together key leaders from critical segments of the data center ecosystem to develop a unified voice around data center efficiency issues. Its goals include defining user-centric models and metrics, and developing and promoting energy efficient standards, processes, measurements and technologies.

Innovative power conversion solutions

In a break from the traditional power supply model, ColdWatt is shifting the paradigm by bringing new technologies to the marketplace and leapfrogging the competition in terms of power conversion efficiency and density. A modular digital architecture gives ColdWatt the ability to not only deliver the highest levels of efficiency and density, but also to respond quickly to customer specific requirements.

As one of a few companies delivering efficiency without sacrificing density, ColdWatt is currently shipping high efficiency 650W - 1200W power conversion products to customers in the server, storage and networking markets. The company will continue to expand its product portfolio to address additional applications and a variety of power levels.
