GOLDEN, CO--(Marketwired - January 15, 2014) - The Coleman Company, Inc., maker of outdoor products, has donated two truckloads of coolers and beverage jugs to aid in the relief efforts surrounding the recent chemical spill in the Charleston, W.Va. The shipment was delivered to relief workers on January 14, and the West Virginia Salvation Army and National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters will be distributing the donated items to those in the affected area.
"Upon learning of the situation in West Virginia, all of us at Coleman wanted to find a way to meet the needs of those without access to clean water," said David Allen, president, Coleman U.S. "Our contribution of coolers and insulated jugs to the relief efforts is sent with the hope that it will help make drinkable water accessible to our neighbors in West Virginia during this trying time."
The donation, which consists of 2-gallon and 5-gallon jugs, along with 28-quart wheeled coolers, is designed to give local residents reasonable capacity to store clean water while they await resumption of water services.
