Colin Doherty Appointed CEO of Arbor Networks

CHELMSFORD, MA--(Marketwire - October 5, 2009) - Arbor Networks®, a leading provider of secure service control solutions for global business networks, announced today that CEO Jack Boyle is retiring. Colin Doherty, Arbor's senior vice president of worldwide sales and customer service, has been appointed by the board of directors as CEO of the company, effective immediately.

"I joined Arbor four years ago because I was so impressed by the people, the solutions they were developing, and most importantly, the passion with which they worked," said Jack Boyle. "The timing is right for me to now step aside, personally and professionally. Having someone in-house with the skill and experience of Colin Doherty certainly made this an easier decision."

Doherty has a 20+ year track record of success in a wide variety of functional areas, including sales, marketing, operations, customer service and general management. Since joining Arbor in 2007, Doherty has transformed Arbor's sales and customer service organizations. His comprehensive knowledge of global telecom markets has proven instrumental in helping Arbor achieve its strong market position and will continue to be critical to Arbor's future success. Prior to joining Arbor, Doherty was president and chief executive officer of Mangrove Systems. He has also held global senior management roles in large public corporations, such as Nortel, and in smaller private companies.

"Arbor is a great company, with incredibly hard working and talented people. We are well positioned from a product portfolio and geographic perspective with more than half our revenue coming from international markets. We are delivering real value to our customers around the world, solving some of their most critical network and security issues. I am very excited about the opportunity to lead the organization forward," said Doherty.

"We wish to thank Jack Boyle for his enormous contributions to the company and wish him well in his retirement," said Farnam Jahanian, co-founder and chairman of the board. "Colin has demonstrated exceptional leadership of Arbor's global sales and customer service organization. We are excited about the future of the company under his leadership."
