CollabNet Acquires Danube

Acquisition of Worldwide Scrum Project Management Leader Uniquely Positions CollabNet to Lead the Agile ALM Market

BRISBANE, CA--(Marketwire - February 22, 2010) - CollabNet, the leader in Agile application lifecycle management (Agile ALM), announced today that it has acquired Danube, the worldwide leader in Scrum project management solutions. Danube offers the industry-leading ScrumWorks Pro software for Agile project and program management and provides training, certification, coaching, and consulting services to organizations implementing Agile. The Danube acquisition uniquely positions CollabNet as a leader in the emerging Agile ALM market. CollabNet and Danube assist more software development teams with collaborative, distributed, and Agile ALM projects than any other company in the world. The terms of the deal are confidential.

The addition of Danube's Scrum-focused services and project management to the Agile Dynamic Planning capabilities already available in CollabNet TeamForge, CollabNet's flagship ALM platform, gives CollabNet customers a powerful combination of Agile project management and full-featured ALM.

Today's distributed and Agile software development teams face unprecedented cost and time pressures and are increasingly looking to adopt new tools and methods that leverage centrally stored assets. Agile ALM platforms enable development teams using Agile, alone or in combination with other methodologies, to manage all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through release. Agile ALM unites business users and developers, provides cross-team visibility, and enables organizations to reduce their time to market, to increase software quality, and to reduce infrastructure costs. Only CollabNet provides an Agile ALM platform that addresses these challenges both for distributed users and for teams scaling from the workgroup to the enterprise.

"CollabNet has pioneered new methods of software development since its inception, ranging from the introduction of Subversion, aimed at helping distributed teams collaborate on their code assets, all the way to the introduction of enterprise ALM platforms, enabling all development stakeholders to collaborate in the Cloud, regardless of location. CollabNet's acquisition of Danube is the next step in our continued leadership in changing the way that software is built," said Bill Portelli, chief executive officer, CollabNet. "The addition of Danube's technology and team to our organization will uniquely enable us to help customers to adopt, implement, and scale Agile software development programs, especially distributed teams that wish to collaborate and leverage knowledge across the entire enterprise."

"Danube brings our industry-leading ScrumWorks software and a world-class roster of trainers and consultants that have helped hundreds of organizations to succeed with Agile software development to CollabNet," said Laszlo Szalvay, president, Danube. "After the acquisition, Danube customers will continue to receive first-class support from CollabNet and will benefit from the breadth and strength of the CollabNet team around the world."

On March 16, 2010, CollabNet will host a webinar on the use of CollabNet TeamForge and ScrumWorks for Agile software development and CollabNet's plans for integrating the two product lines. Register at
