College Marketing Firm Fluent Continues Executive Hires: Adds DoubleFly's LaPlante, Jack Morton's Overbey

Latest Hires Establish Seattle Presence, Support Ongoing Financial Growth

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Sep 30, 2013) - Leading College Millennial Consumer (CMC) marketing firm Fluent announced today the hiring of Kim LaPlante as Account Supervisor for the company's ongoing work for Microsoft, and Erin Overbey as Finance Manager, solidifying the company's operational foundation as it continues its expansion. These two hires follow closely on the heels of its announcement that former Cramer EVP Darren Ross has joined Fluent as EVP, Solutions.

"We are in a terrific position to bring on the best and brightest in our industry to work with marquee brands in a market segment that offers so much opportunity," said Fluent Chief Executive Officer Chip Rives. "We are thrilled to have someone with Kim's background onboard to lead our West Coast programming out of Seattle. With Erin, her global experience at Jack Morton means she has the expertise to help support us through continued growth, keeping our relationships with clients and partners running smoothly every step of the way."

The company also reported earlier this summer 105% compound annual growth for the past three years.

Details on the two new hires are:

Kim LaPlante, Account Supervisor, Seattle. LaPlante joins Fluent from management consulting company DoubleFly, which she founded in 2011. There she worked with clients such as Applied Global Technologies, Concord Technologies, One Touch Global, and Vizit on strategic planning and marketing. She worked concurrently for much of that time as a consultant for Global Alliance Marketing with Microsoft. Her accomplishments include development and continuous review and evolution of joint marketing plans to drive the goals of key Microsoft partnerships. Prior to that, LaPlante was Director of Partner Marketing at Open Text, where she built and managed partner programs on a global basis, while driving programs and marketing to and with all partners such as Value-Added Resellers, Systems Integrators, ISVs and referral partners. Her background includes leadership positions in telecommunications companies such as Spectrum Wireless, Advanced Radio Telecom, Winstar Communications, Snyder Communications, and WorldCom. She holds a bachelor's degree in MIS and a master's degree in marketing from University of Colorado, and completed Cornell University's Executive Program in Financial Management in 2009.

Erin Overbey, Finance Manager. Overbey joins Fluent from her position as Senior Financial Analyst at Jack Morton Worldwide where she was responsible for global financial planning and analysis across the company's 16 offices. There she also partnered with executives to formulate and deliver financial predictive analytics, taking their metrics to a whole new level with dashboards and reporting to deliver data in an 'easy as pie' to interpret format. Before that, Overbey was a financial analyst at Textron Systems, with financial planning and analysis responsibilities that included financial and variance analysis, forecasting, financial modeling and trend analysis, as well as the consolidation of the annual operating plan for five operating units. She is a graduate of Fairfield University, holding a bachelor's degree in international business and finance. Overbey and her husband reside in Boston.
