The College Network Enables Universities to Offer New and Existing Curricula Online to a Global Audience

The College Network Provides Education Content Delivery Solutions, Allowing Universities to Customize Distance Learning

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwire - March 5, 2010) -  The College Network™ provides a fast and cost-effective option for colleges and universities that want to repurpose existing course content or develop new content to offer distance learning programs to a global audience. Through The College Network, university partners can transform current curricula and develop fully interactive online content that can be delivered to a much broader audience than traditional campus-based programs.

By expanding the availability of education programs using an online platform, The College Network and partner universities can better reach adults who want to earn advanced degrees and professional certificates but don't have the time to enroll full-time. A 2009 analysis published by the U.S. Department of Education showed that students who took all or part of their class online performed better, on average, than those learning solely through traditional face-to-face instruction.1

"While it all begins with top-quality content from subject matter experts, our approach considers the learners' personal preferences and needs, the complexity of the instructional material and the technology available to facilitate the learning process," said Carla Downing, Ph.D., The College Network's Vice President of Product Development and Academic Support. "In the end, we provide an engaging environment in which learners can thrive. This increases their willingness to study the content while reducing the amount of time required to master it."

The College Network launched the first certificate course delivered on its new online platform through Purdue University earlier this week. Purdue began working with The College Network in July 2009 to develop its Lean Six Sigma certificate series for online delivery. The first of these courses, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, began this week with 25 students registered in the online environment.

"We are confident in our ability to help universities, like Purdue, through the content delivery solutions we provide," commented Gary Eyler, Chief Executive Officer of The College Network. "We are excited about the opportunity to provide institutions of higher learning with the chance to develop their classroom-based programs into an online format, thus allowing them to reach students globally."

The College Network works collaboratively with its university clients to design programs that take full advantage of their existing course material while also meeting the needs of learners in an online environment. The College Network also provides marketing and advertising services, Program Advisors, and support for the universities and their online programs.
