College Pro Launches Web 2.0 BtoB Portal to Create Online Community With Franchisees

ChannelNet Includes Wikis and Advanced Blogging Functionality in College Pro's Redesigned Portal

SAUSALITO, CA--(Marketwire - December 23, 2009) - College Pro (, North America's largest and most successful student painting company, has partnered with ChannelNet (, to create advanced Website solutions that now includes cutting-edge social media capabilities as part of a redesigned Portal.

College Pro wanted to create an online community to improve the education and collaboration processes between corporate, field operations and their growing base of franchisees, most of whom are college and university students and recent graduates who are very tuned into the Internet and social media. College Pro wanted their new Portal to serve as the online central hub of their business to business activity.

With those objectives in mind, ChannelNet created a secure and intuitive Portal that leverages social media technologies. College Pro's redesigned Portal incorporates advanced wiki and blogging features to encourage the College Pro business community to stay connected.

College Pro and ChannelNet joined forces in 2006. Since then, the College Pro community has drastically grown. "With our franchisee owners and painters growing up on the Web, having an online social and educational community seemed right," stated April Broome, College Pro Director of IT. "Our main goal was to create a knowledge library available to all levels of the organization -- from the painter to the CEO. ChannelNet took our vision and created an interactive, modern solution that has become an extension of our core business model."

The new Portal is a tool that allows management staff, field operations, franchise owners and painters to log on and browse a vast repository of information that includes everything from tips on hiring new employees to video messages from the CEO. There is also functionality that allows users to access, post, and edit blog entries, images, and videos. Behind-the-scenes business rules and individual permissions manage who can see the posting and/or edit the posting.

"ChannelNet is a company that provides end-to-end solutions and helps solve business problems by applying Web based technologies." Says, ChannelNet CEO and Founder Paula Tompkins. "We pride ourselves on creating solutions to achieve measurable results for our clients. The speed at which social media has gained acceptance in the marketplace provided an excellent opportunity for us to build an innovative solution to help College Pro meet their business goals."
