All meeting rooms and event venues in the Cologne hotel's former Johannishaus section, the initial part of the hotel, have undergone a full modernization. A new look and feel for the ballroom "Forum1" as well as the adjacent meeting rooms on the first basement floor have recently been unveiled, updating and modernizing the walls, floors, lighting and technology.

The guidelines and concept for the modernization were inspired by Marriott's own meeting concept 'Meetings Imagined'. Blending with the new colors and room layouts, the property now offers more functional and flexible seating options, mobile buffet areas, extra room for creative workshops and small groups, as well as space for privacy and working alone. In addition, the meeting room "Work & Relax" was increased in size from 28 to 47 square meters, in order to offer an additional room for bigger groups and gatherings.

All meeting rooms in the main building of the hotel are now equipped with flat screens with a width of 84", integrated Bose sound bars for optimal acoustics, a click share system for wireless projections as well as high-speed Wi-Fi access. Additionally, the ballroom "Forum 1" now features a permanently installed monolith to serve for large format projections, an integrated sound and acoustic system as well as the possibility to run the entire event's technology via tablet.
