Colorado Avalanche Ticket Prices Up 40%

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT--(Marketwired - Oct 9, 2014) - Following a whirlwind season that saw the Colorado Avalanche finish in first place in the Central Division, the average price of Colorado Avalanche tickets is up more than 40 percent on Ticket Liquidator. The average price for Avalanche home games increased by 41 percent, up to an average of $76 compared to $54 during the same time-period the previous year on Ticket Liquidator, which hosts an online exchange for tickets on the secondary market.

Last year's turn-around season, which followed a disappointing 29th overall finish in 2012 -13, saw first year coach Patrick Roy win the Jack Abrams award for his outstanding work with the young team. It seems Avalanche fans, well known around the league for their passion, are anticipating another strong season.

"We normally see a rise in ticket prices after a good season, but for the average price of tickets to increase this much is unusual," said Andrés Hidalgo, a sports specialist at Ticket Liquidator. "It seems like Roy and his team have fired up Avalanche fans for what looks to be another exciting season."

The Colorado Avalanche, who won the Stanley Cup in both 1996 and 2001, held 487 consecutive sellouts from 1995 - 2006, the all-time NHL record.
