Colorado Springs Animal Hospital Announces Cat Boarding Services

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO--(Marketwire - Sep 27, 2011) - Northwest Animal Hospital & Pet Care Center announced that the vet clinic offers comprehensive pet boarding for cats and dogs, along with medical care boarding for pets with special needs. The veterinary staff is also available to provide extra medical attention. The veterinary hospital serves the Monument, Air Force Academy, Briargate, Woodland Park, Manitou Springs, Fountain, Security, Widefield, and Fort Carson pet communities.

Dr. John H. Sudduth, a Colorado Springs veterinarian and owner of Northwest Animal Hospital & Pet Care Center, announced that his vet center provides dog and cat boarding services. The vet clinic also offers medical boarding, doggy daycare and pet grooming.

"We are excited to offer pet owners both dog boarding and cat boarding services," said Dr. Sudduth. "We know it can be stressful for both pets and owners when it comes to boarding, and our caring staff is committed to providing pets with the same love and attention that they receive at home."

The veterinary hospital offers quiet cat boarding in "kitty condos," which provide a room with secure windows for cats to look outside, scratching posts and cat toys that keep cats engaged.

A separate facility houses the dog kennels for dog boarding, and includes plenty of space for dogs to safely roam freely under supervision. The Colorado Springs pet boarding center follows strict sanitation guidelines, and routinely disinfects and cleans the sleeping and play area to keep pets healthy and comfortable.

"We understand that every pet is used to a different routine, and we do our best to accommodate special dietary requirements and medical needs," said Dr. Sudduth. "Our goal is to be your pet's 'home away from home,' and our entire boarding team is committed to providing professional, attentive and compassionate care."

Prior to boarding, all pets must be up to date on their rabies shots and vaccines. The vet clinic has a strict, flea-free policy and must have a negative, parasite-free stool sample within the previous six months.

The vet clinic also provides medical boarding for older pets or pets with special needs. No pets can be admitted if they currently have a contagious disease.

The veterinary staff can also use boarding time to provide preventive health services, including wellness exams, dog dental cleanings or pet grooming.

"Many of our pet owners find that boarding is a great time to have our veterinary staff perform basic wellness care," said Dr. Sudduth. "For busy pet owners that are not able to bring their pet in easily for regular grooming or dental care, boarding is a great opportunity to provide these services at no inconvenience to pet owners."

Northwest Animal Hospital & Pet Care Center is AAHA certified. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) certifies only 12% of all animal hospitals in North America. More information about the strict standards required for accreditation are available on the website.
