Colorado Springs Veterinary Hospital Announces Pet Wellness Website

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO--(Marketwire - Jan 22, 2012) - Yorkshire Veterinary Hospital has announced the launch of its new website, The new site includes a "Veterinary Topics" library to educate pet owners about the basics of pet wellness care. There is also a new blog, events calendar, and information on the practice's services. The vet clinic was founded in 1979 as a small practice focused on personalized, family care. Purchased in 2005 by veterinarians Drs. Scott and Corrina Hamann, the practice relocated in July 2011 to a new, state-of-the-art facility. The animal hospital treats cats, dogs, exotics, birds, reptiles, fish and pocket pets.

Dr. Scott Hamann, a Colorado Springs vet and co-owner of Yorkshire Veterinary Hospital, announced the launch of the animal clinic's new website, The new website is designed to enhance communication with pet owners and expand access to educational resources about pet wellness care.

The "Veterinary Topics" library features information on how to choose a pet, what to expect when bringing a pet home, tips for traveling with a pet, and how to recognize the signs of illness. There is also information on pet first aid and common health concerns, including arthritis, pet dental care, and pet surgery.

Pet owners who wish to stay up to date on the latest pet health news and receive pet care tips can sign up for the free, bi-weekly e-newsletter.

"The e-newsletter is a great way to enhance communication between pet owners and our pet wellness staff," said Dr. Corrina Hamann, a veterinarian and co-owner of the animal hospital. "We want to keep pet owners abreast of the latest veterinary science developments that could affect the health of their pets."

Individuals can also learn more pet care tips on the website's blog. They can also learn what to expect on the first visit with a veterinarian by visiting the website's "New Patient Center." Pet owners can learn about payment options and complete forms in advance of the first visit.

The vet clinic is active in the local Colorado Springs community, hosting open house events and participating in the Pawtoberfest 5K to benefit the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.

In addition to the Humane Society, the animal clinic also works closely with rescue non-profits, including the Colorado Greyhound Association, Harley's Hope, Golden Retriever Freedom Rescue, Four Paws, Feline Friends, and All Breed Rescue.
