Columbia-Educated Psychotherapist Laurie Marsden Launches New Women's Help Website

LaurieMarsden.com Offers Advice, Recommendations and a Low Cost Self-Help Program for Improving Confidence, Health and Happiness

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Oct 17, 2013) - Laurie Marsden, a Columbia-educated licensed clinical social worker, today announced the launch of LaurieMarsden.com, a new website dedicated specifically to helping women improve their confidence, health and happiness. The website's primary offering is a comprehensive and cost-effective wellness program, The 8 Steps to Becoming You, which offers women a unique approach to self-improvement at a fraction of the cost of traditional counseling. Women who visit the site can also obtain free advice and recommendations for becoming happier and healthier on Marsden's blog and in her latest E-book, The Woman's Guide to Building Healthy Relationships: http://lauriemarsden.com/ebook/womans-guide-to-building-healthy-relationships/

Marsden recognizes that many women struggle with their relationships, work, social situations, their own personal needs and balancing them all. Her program, The 8 Steps to Becoming You, is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) methods and designed exclusively for women to help them identify and address issues in their lives that may be preventing them from achieving happiness and living life to their potential. CBT, is one of the most utilized and scientifically-tested forms of psychotherapy treatment for improving mood and changing behavior.

Despite an interest and sincere desire to participate in self-improvement programs, the time and place factor is a huge barrier for women seeking the help they need. Because The 8 Steps to Becoming You is self-paced, and can be done conveniently and privately from home, women can more easily fit the program into their busy lives.

Program participants receive a 95-page workbook, which includes relevant concepts and worksheets, and access to nearly 50 videos where Marsden talks women through the material and explains the topics covered in the accompanying workbook. The program also offers women access to a members-only community board, where they can share their experiences and learn from other like-minded individuals. The program can be used on its own, fulfilling many women's needs. The program can also be used as a complement for, and in conjunction with traditional therapy, or be used as an after-care program.

"I couldn't be more excited about the launch of my new site," says Laurie Marsden, Founder of LaurieMarsden.com. "So many women struggle to find inner strength, confidence and happiness in their everyday lives. More than anything, I realized I wanted to help women and offer them a solution that could help them get back in touch with themselves."
