Comergent Appoints Carolyn Layne Vice President of Marketing

Dynamic Leader Joins Leading Enterprise E-Commerce Solutions Provider

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 18, 2005 -- Comergent Technologies® Inc., the leading provider of enterprise e-commerce solutions, has named Carolyn Layne as its new vice president of marketing, effective immediately. Reporting to president and CEO, Jean Kovacs, Layne will help Comergent capitalize on its unique advantages as the leading provider of enterprise e-commerce software and hosted solutions.

Ms. Layne brings more than 20 years of technical and business management expertise to Comergent. Layne has led marketing efforts for enterprise software companies Sabrix, Inc. and Ascential Software (formerly Informix Corporation), an excellent fit with Comergent's Global 2000 customer base. Layne also helped pioneer interactive television for a joint venture, TELE-TV, as well as Pacific Telesis. She began her career at IBM and Hewlett-Packard .
