Command Information Acquires Leading-Edge Security Services Company

Industry Expert Chris O'Ferrell to Head New Network Security Practice

HERNDON, VA--(Marketwire - June 10, 2008) - Command Information, the premier provider of next-generation network services, today announced that it has acquired Idealogica, Inc., a privately held Virginia-based information security company. As part of the agreement, Command Information will acquire Idealogica's staff, intellectual property, and government/commercial customer base. Chris O'Ferrell, industry expert and Idealogica's CEO, will serve as Command Information's Vice President of Security Services and lead its new network security practice.

"A major concern for both government and commercial entities that are implementing next-generation network capabilities is the security component," said Jerry Edgerton, CEO of Command Information. "We wanted to be able to offer our customers the confidence that their Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) enablement would not compromise the security of their networks. Chris O'Ferrell and the Idealogica team have the expertise required to assist in this regard. We are excited to have them on board."

Idealogica maintains core competencies in architecture and engineering; certification and accreditation; forensics and investigations; open source intelligence; penetration testing; policy development/review; secure coding and tool development; source code review; training; and vulnerability assessment services. Command Information will continue to serve Idealogica's current base of Fortune 50 and U.S. government agency customers.

As Vice President of Security Services for Command Information, Chris O'Ferrell is responsible for the business development, customer delivery, and product enhancements of the new network security practice. Prior to his role as CEO of Idealogica, O'Ferrell was Vice President of Professional Services and Chief Science Officer at both MCI and Verizon. He has held executive level positions with NetSec, Predictive Systems, and Global Integrity, as well as with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the Secret Service. He has served in the U.S. Army Infantry and has extensive experience in the ethical hacking arena, where he is skilled in the design, analysis, and evaluation of hacker tools and technologies.

"Most networking companies are focused on first-generation IPv4 network services and solutions," said O'Ferrell. "What interests us the most about Command Information is their forward-thinking approach to the next generation of IPv6 networking technology -- they are clearly a leader in this space. We look forward to working with Command Information's customers to provide reliable security services and solutions for their multi-protocol networks."
