Command Information Offers Securing, Hacking, and Defending IPv6 Training Course

Company to Provide Education on the Testing and Defending of Present-Day IPv6 Networks

VIENNA, VA--(Marketwire - December 15, 2008) - Command Information, the premier provider of next generation network services, today announced that it is offering a new training course aimed to assist security professionals responsible for testing and defending networks while implementing Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). The primary objective of this course, "Securing, Hacking, and Defending IPv6," is to provide a deep understanding of attacking and defending present-day networks.

"A majority of operating, appliance, and embedded system vendors are currently installing and enabling IPv6 by default," said Doug Dangremond, Vice President, Sales, Command Information. "Although the wide-scale adoption of IPv6 has yet to be realized, its presence on the network is real and it is a major concern for many security professionals. The development of this training course is part of our on-going strategy to assist in better securing networks."

The initial course will be held on December 16-18, 2008 with subsequent courses slated for March 16-18, 2009 and April 13-15, 2009 at Command Information's IPv6 Training Center in Herndon, Virginia. This training session will present insight into the security challenges that exist with the evolution to the next generation Internet, what security architecture and tools are available for a more secure network, as well as what organizations should be doing today to monitor and mitigate IPv6 network attacks.

"We are confident that this new course will offer high-level content that will immediately impact the IPv6 strategies of all participants," said Dangremond. "The course will serve the requirements of a broad range of organizations -- from government agencies to Communications Providers to Fortune 1000 companies. We are excited to introduce the course."

Command Information's IPv6 Training Center is the only training facility in North America dedicated solely to IPv6. Command Information built this training center to run entirely on the next generation Internet with IPv6-capable devices and networks powering the facility. IPv6 Training Center certified instructors consist of engineers with hands-on IPv6 experience. Courses address both government and corporate IPv6 issues in the areas of adoption, security, mobility, and software.
