Committee Bay to Explore in Argentina

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - March 22, 2005) - Committee
Bay Resources Ltd ("CBRL") (TSX VENTURE:CBR) is pleased to announce that
has commenced an exploration program in Argentina. CBRL is currently
finalizing setup of a wholly owned subsidiary Minera La Huella S.A. and
acquiring 5 cateos totaling 23,785 hectares in San Juan province,
Argentina.

The decision to expand into Argentina was based our management's
previous experience in the area and confirmed by several reconnaissance
trips to Argentina in late 2004. CBRL has set an exploration budget of
$500,000 to conduct grassroots exploration and early stage property
evaluation. Our current focus is exploring for bulk-mineable
sediment-hosted disseminated gold mineralization in the Precordillera of
central Argentina and low sulphidation epithermal gold - silver
mineralization in Patagonia.

Our initial property in San Juan Province is in a belt of gold
occurrences in Ordovician Age platformal carbonate rocks where
preliminary reconnaissance exploration in 2004 identified lithologies
and structure in outcrop with favourable alteration. A program of
rock-chip, stream sediment sampling and geological mapping is scheduled
to start on the San Juan project in mid-April.

CBRL is currently evaluating and reviewing other opportunities including
epithermal precious metal prospects in Santa Cruz province of Patagonia
and high sulphidation epithermal precious metal targets in northwestern
Argentina.

CBRL uses geological expertise and cutting edge technology to identify
and acquire grassroots and early stage mineral properties with
world-class potential. Our management team believes Argentina is still
relatively under explored and has excellent potential for the discovery
of new major gold deposits. Our exploration analogues for the San Juan
Project are the deposits of the Carlin and Battle Mountain trends in
Nevada.

As of Dec. 31, 2004 Committee Bay Resources Ltd has working capital of
$11.6 million and 28,741,204 shares outstanding.
