SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwire - Aug 16, 2011) - The Fall 2011 Common Core State Standards and School Transformation Symposium, hosted by Evans Newton Incorporated (ENI), will be held at the Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale, Arizona, from October 5-7, 2011. The event features interactive workshops, panel discussions, and research findings to aid administrators in increasing and maintaining student achievement results while transitioning to the Common Core State Standards by the 2014 deadline.

Participants will leave with concrete ideas for implementing systemic change and comprehensive data analyses that lead to increased student learning -- keys to success -- while transitioning to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

Nationally recognized thought leaders and practitioners will present on the following topics:

  • Distributed Leadership in School Transformation: The superintendent of Dorchester School District Two and SCASA's 2012 "Superintendent of the Year" will share some pros and cons of his leadership style as it relates to school transformation.
  • Collaborative Leadership Strategy in School Transformation: The principal of Eugene Field Elementary School will discuss how engaging the staff and community from the ground up in this process has lead to huge gains in student achievement and community participation.
  • Transforming an Underperforming School: The principal of Clifton Elementary School will share her experience in moving from a chronic underperforming school to one that achieved AYP in 2011.
  • Implementing the Common Core State Standards with Integrity and Fidelity: A nationally recognized leader on data analysis will provide participants with a framework for Continuous School Improvement to help during their transition.
