Communication Resources Inc. Selects Voice Mobility for Their Customer's Unified Communications Requirements

Rigorous Testing and 2.8 Million Calls Prove Voice Mobility's UCN 250 is Ideal OCTel® Migration Solution

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 20, 2009) - Voice Mobility International, Inc. (TSX:VMY)(OTCBB:VMII)(FRANKFURT:VMY), a Vancouver-based developer and provider of carrier and enterprise unified communication solutions, today announced that its certified partner and systems integrator, Communication Resources Inc. (CRI), has selected Voice Mobility's UCN 250 solution as a best in class migration solution for its national base of OCTel® messaging customers.

CRI is a major reseller of Avaya products and is one of the original value added resellers of OCTel® systems. They have been a leading reseller and integrator of OCTel® (O200,300,250&350) systems since 1988. "For CRI the OCTel® platform sits on a pedestal due to its performance and success in the industry. So when we evaluated VMI's UCN 250 we were admittedly cautious," said Bob Gill, President and CEO of CRI. "CRI prides itself on putting every solution we sell through rigorous, production environment testing at our Wall, New Jersey Labs. After 3 days of operation, pulling drives, cards and power supplies we pounded 2.8M calls through the system and it never missed a beat. After 20 years of selling and installing voice messaging and unified communication solutions, I truly believe there has never been a better designed or more reliable system to migrate the OCTel® 250/350 to than the UCN 250."

CRI customers have voiced concern that their OCTel® servers are now end of life. "What our customers keep telling us is that they are not willing to give up scalability and reliability, to accept limits on the number of caller applications, or change their user interfaces when migrating from their OCTel® servers," noted Gil Engels, CRI VP of Sales and former Director at OCTel®. "For many users, these applications and interfaces have become an industry standard and for some users it is the only interface they have ever used."

Originally developed for the central office and hosted/managed care environments, the UCN 250 is a Linux platform that scales readily to 1.5M users and over 6000 ports and is a perfect migration solution for legacy Avaya OCTel® servers. Voice Mobility's product family also includes the UCN Vmerge Windows based solution. The Vmerge represents the perfect solution for those companies that desire next generation functionality like Presence, Instant Messaging, CTI, Speech Recognition and Attendant without the need to upgrade to Microsoft's OCS or IBM's Sametime environments.

Six months ago CRI was asked by one of the largest departments of the United States Federal Government to provide their opinion and recommendation for the replacement of their installed base of three OCTel® 350 servers. The customer had spent the last 2 years attempting to replace their OCTel® servers with another manufacturer's voice messaging system. The agency purchased a 12 server system that had significant feature deficits when compared to their existing OCTel® servers. Implementing the new solution would have caused a significant reduction of services to their 40,000 user and calling communities. In addition there was no solution offered to migrate existing Enhanced Call Processing (ECP) applications or mailbox content from one system to another. As a result the agency decided that it would be too costly to implement the other manufacturer's solution and abandoned it.

CRI recommended Voice Mobility's UCN 250 solution to support the customer's goal of migrating all of their user mailboxes, their callers mailboxes and their application structures to a solution that emulates OCTel® features and functionality. The solution recommended will run on carrier class hardware, supply geo redundancy, and deliver 6-nines reliability.

With the assistance of CRI, nearly 40,000 user mailboxes, messages, names, greetings and over 5000 ECP structures are being migrated to the UCN 250 Linux solution running on carrier grade Stratus Servers. The UCN 250 is initially integrated to a Nortel DMS 100, moving to a Nortel CS 2100 early next year.
