CommuniGate Systems Powers Skinkers UK to Broadcast Virtually Instantaneous Security Warnings, Breaking News and Stock Price Alerts

CommuniGate Pro to Deliver XMPP-Enabled Secure Information Broadcasts to Desktops and Mobile Devices

MILL VALLEY, CA--(Marketwire - February 21, 2008) - CommuniGate Systems, the leader in carrier-class Unified Communications, today announced a partnership with Skinkers, the market leader in information broadcast technology. Under the agreement, Skinkers will utilize the powerful CommuniGate Pro Unified Communications platform to add an "instant push" communication component to its Live Notification Platform™.

Skinkers and CommuniGate Systems combined technology will enable organizations to deliver vital information such as stock price changes, news alerts, and bomb and evacuation warnings in less than a second. This virtually instantaneous messaging feature is now under final development and testing.

Skinkers, the market leader in information broadcast technology, delivers solutions that ensure ShouldKnow information is delivered to audiences with visibility and impact. ShouldKnow™ information is priority and useful information we need to know, for example breaking news, corporate communications, service outages, stock price alerts and podcasts. Audiences can select what type of ShouldKnow information they would like to receive and what device they would like it sent to (computers, handhelds and mobile phones). Skinkers enable organizations to deliver priority notifications and distribute heavy content through a controlled, highly versatile and secure universal communication platform.

Skinkers technology is used by many of the world's leading brands and its clients include the BBC, London Stock Exchange, Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines, easyJet, Acer and the Microsoft Xbox 360. It selected CommuniGate Systems due to its Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) compatibility. This open XML technology is for real-time communication, which powers a wide range of applications including instant messaging, presence, media negotiation, whiteboarding, collaboration, lightweight middleware, content syndication, and generalized XML routing.

"The CommuniGate Pro software is critical to the development of our new range of instantaneous push communications. CommuniGate Systems use well-proved communications principles to provide a very fast delivery of address and data to hundreds, even thousands, if not millions of recipients. It is real-time, instant, push technology -- which is very hard to do over the internet. With CommuniGate we're really sending a rocket right through the net," said Rob Noble, Skinkers Chief Operating Officer.

"We chose CommuniGate after an exhaustive search of available technology companies and they came out on top for three reasons. They have an excellent track record in using the XMPP protocol, their UK operation is very responsive and they have invested in an advanced worldwide support structure which is highly important for our mission-critical communications," Noble continues. "For very important, high-profile information that you definitely ShouldKnow, CommuniGate Systems technology is the fast lane on the motorway."

"We are very excited to be working alongside an innovative company like Skinkers that has shown the amazing potential of the CommuniGate Pro Unified Communications platform," said Jon R. Doyle, vice president of Business Development at CommuniGate Systems. "This new generation of messaging will enable vital business information, breaking news and safety alerts to be distributed to workforces instantly. We look forward to working closely with Skinkers to expand the deployment of the technology in the market."

Beyond messaging, CommuniGate Pro enables enhanced IP Communications services, including instant messaging, presence, RSS news feeds, and Voice over IP services. The platform gives users a choice of clients -- IP phones, soft clients, traditional telephony, mobile devices, browsers, and IM agents -- all through a single account. CommuniGate Systems' Pronto! interface offers a sleek, unified communications dashboard based on Adobe Flash® and Adobe Flex™ 2 technology.
