Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund-Club de soccer de Bromont Inc. Receives Financial Support From Government of Canada

BROMONT, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 25, 2013) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Senator Pierre-Hugues Boisvenu today announced the awarding of financial assistance to Club de soccer de Bromont Inc. for the improvement of its community recreational infrastructure.

"Our government sees modern infrastructure as one of the keys to the social and economic development of our communities. It is for this reason that we have chosen to lend support to this synthetic soccer field project in Bromont," said Senator Boisvenu.

The Bromont soccer club will use the funding from Canada Economic Development to renovate the soccer field at the Germain Désourdy recreational and educational complex. This work will include laying a synthetic playing surface, adding sports equipment and installing a lighting system.

This assistance, granted in the form of a $500,000 non-repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The CIIF has a nationwide budget of $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec, where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
